Become a Math Wizard

The math curriculum has become very advanced in both public and private schools. Students are expected to begin advanced math concepts at earlier and earlier grades. As a result, we find more and more students who need help with their basic understanding of math. With a good foundation, students are then able to meet the challenges with the school curriculum.

Our tutors are highly trained in teaching basic and advanced math successfully. We have tests that accurately measure your child’s knowledge in key areas. We can then diagnose your child’s specific gaps in math understanding and create a program tailored to their individual needs.

We help your child understand the vocabulary of math, sharpen their command of math facts and give them the operational skills they need to successfully solve math problems. Many students have problems with math word problems. At Learning Plus we demonstrate to the student how to approach the problem, how to take it apart and then how to conceptualize what they need to do to solve it.

Without visualizing the information students have no idea how to even begin solving word problems. Our methods help the student feel more confident, thus giving them the correct tools to be successful. We receive success stories from our students who are now excelling in math after being tutored with our comprehensive approach. They change from being slow and bored with math to being interested and accurate.

Common Core

Common Core challenges students to think about different approaches in figuring out common math problems. We help students with these challenges, so they can successfully master this new standard.
